VCR
After the Company founder and director made the move to Florida, she wanted to find a way to keep the company in the community and connected as a whole. Creating this Dance for the Camera was an absolute joy.
Directors note:
This film is a bit special to me. Since moving to FL, it has been a challenge to step out and make a change in my life. For the longest time, I felt like I had to make a change, but then came to realize it is nice to feel comfortable right where you are at. The song VCR, to me, is a state of mind that I find myself stuck in at times, that maybe most of us feel stuck in at times. We choose the tape, play the tape, watch it roll, rewind it back to the beginning, and wait until the next time we choose to play and watch the same thing. Being stuck in a pattern, possible glitches along the way, or maybe getting the tape caught and you have to take it out mid-way through to assess the situation are all points that happen for a reason. All in all, I hope you are able to connect to the short dance in some way and be okay with sometimes being stuck in your pattern. Appreciate the comfortability your body already knows and chooses to be in just at the perfect time.
